I am sorry that i have not been very active here lately but lateshift weeks are always very stressful for me.
But I was finally able to finish my Avril drawing! No doubt that this was the most detailed hair I´ve ever drawn :phew:.
It was a good drawing practise that´s for sure :D.

Hope you guys like it. Comments fav´s and critiques are always welcome :).

Drawn from reference on A3 Hahnemühle sketchpaper with 190 gsm. All done with graphite pencils. No PS effects as usual.

This is just amazing. I thought it was a picture it is so detailed! I hope I can be this good someday. The detail around the eyes are what blows me away. You can see the wrinkles and the different shades it's so clear. The hair is amazing too every piece of it looks like real strands of hair. I really have nothing bad to say about this piece it is truly inspirational. This must have taken you months to do I can't believe it looks just like a photograph!! Good luck to you in all of your drawings!

At first glance, this appears to be a photo--for it is so rich with detail. The hair in particular, every inch of it looks freshly brushed (pardon the pun) which gives the picture such realism, it is almost scary.

I liked the slight snarl on the lips, as it makes them look relaxed and prefectly natural. These lips couldn't possibly belong to anyone other than Avirl L, the artist has taken great care to convey the exact overbite pout that belongs to her and her alone. Anyone looking at this picture instantly recognises who it is. If this had been a mere photo, I would not have studied it as closely, not being a fan of the singer myself.The detail makes you stop and look at the face closely, it makes you really study it--which is an achivement.

can you please teach me how to draw real people, i know you are probably very busy, and i know it takes practice, but i am a really good drawer, just not as good at realism, if you could just take a few minutes of your time to tell me how (in traditional drawing) how you shade and make the face proportional, i would appreciate it more than you could ever know!

your ability to render hair, lips, texture, wrinkles...its incredible.. not just this one but all of your renders. I'm going through all of them and I am having an epiphany. No doubt that drawing this level of detail is extremely rewarding. I'm a fairly decent artist.. BUT I CAN'T EVEN FIGURE OUT YOUR APPROACH IN THESE DRAWINGS >.<
